Adventures with Chef David: Taiwan Hotel Tour (pt 3)
A famous Japanese restaurant in Taiwan
The next day, I had the awesome privilege to go and eat at a very famous Japanese restaurant located around 1 hour drive outside Taipei.
One must know, that if you haven’t heard about the place, you will never find it. It is located in the heart of the mountain, simply sitting in a cement building, but with an impressive view of nature and a modern touch.
Adventures with Chef David: Taiwan Hotel Tour (pt 1)
As a chef, I had the privilege once more to go and experience different foods and cultures. On this trip, my culinary tour brought me to Taipei. I checked in at The Agora hotel. A nice 5 star hotel located in the heart of Taipei! Lucky me!! This trip also had the double purpose of checking out service levels of various hotels in Asia Pacific.
Dinner at the Shangria-la Hotel Taipei
The first stop was to have dinner at the Shangri-la hotel, where I had a wonderful Shanghainese dinner (even though I was in Taipei). I’d like to educate those of you who haven’t tried this type of cuisine.
The food was a bit spicy with mild flavors. I tried a nice Fish with bamboo shoots, spicy soft tofu, Xiao long bao (steamed juicy pork dumpling), rice cakes, cucumber in Mirin sauce and of course some pulled pork in sweet sauce
